The best diving lessons aren’t taught in the classroom—they’re shared between divers.

Why I started The Dive Coconut

Most scuba diving advice is either too technical, too sales-driven or based on someone's perfect holiday.

I want to build something different.

The Dive Coconut is a place where beginner and recreational divers can find honest, practical advice without the fluff. No sponsored Hype. No Pretending every dive resort is 'amazing'. Just real experiences, real costs and real lessons from diving around Asia.

I've made my fair share of mistakes - from booking overpriced dive trips to buying gear i didn't need. If sharing those lessons helps someone avoid wasting money or stay a little safer underwater, then this blog has done its job.

Whether you're preparing for your first Open Water course or planning your 50th dive trip, I hope you'll find something here that makes your next dive a better one.

Scuba doesn't have to be expensive

One of the biggest myths about diving is that it's only for people with deep pockets.

That's simply not true.

You don't need the most expensive gear or luxury liveaboards to enjoy incredible dives. You just need to know where your money actually makes a difference - and where it doesn't.

HONEST REVIEWS

No paid praise.

If a dive operator impressed me, i'll explain why.

If i think something is overpriced or disappointing, I'll say that too.

Every recommendation is based on whether i'd visit again.

Safety always comes First

Adventure is fun. Coming home Safely is better.

Every article is written with safety in mind, especially for new divers who are still building confidence.

everyone starts somewhere

No one is born knowing how buoyancy works or what regulator to buy.

built for divers in asia

Most diving content online is written from a Western Perspective.

This blog focuses on the places many of us actually visit - from Malaysia and Indonesia to the Philippines, Thailand, Japan and beyond - with prices, travel tips and recommendations that make sense for divers based in Singapore and SEA.
